The Knife Angel arrived in Weston-super-Mare yesterday (Wednesday 1 May). The statue was officially welcomed to North Somerset with a short opening ceremony in the afternoon.

The first ever North Somerset Walk Fest has kicked off today (Wednesday 1 May), with people across North Somerset due to ‘walk this May’ and enjoy the benefits of walking.

All North Somerset libraries will be closed on Tuesday 7 May from 9.30am to 2pm, so staff can be trained in using a new computer system. All libraries will reopen as normal at 2pm.

North Somerset Council’s libraries team have gifted 150 books to local people who are learning English as their second language to mark World Book Night (Tuesday 23 April).

The iconic Knife Angel statue will be in Weston’s Italian Gardens throughout May. To mark its arrival, the public are invited to attend an opening ceremony on Wednesday 1 May, which begins at 4pm.
