The birthday cards promote free bus travel running from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025 for residents throughout their birthday month. Anyone under the age of 21 can get two months of free travel, helping to make sure public transport forms a part of young people’s travel habits.

Cllr Hannah Young, Executive Member for Highways and Transport at North Somerset Council, said: “Using your Birthday Bus pass is a great way to visit local businesses during the festive season. By showing how convenient it is to use the bus, we hope more people will choose public transport in the future. We also hope to encourage you to explore and connect with the community by visiting local libraries.”
North Somerset Council is committed to enhancing public transport through the Bus Service Improvement Plan, funded by the Department for Transport. This plan aims to create a well-connected, efficient bus network that meets the needs of communities today and in the future, ensuring bus services are sustainable for years to come.
