It’s vital that the necessary infrastructure is in place to help create strong new communities with the services and facilities they need. Providing local schools for local pupils is a key part of that.
Schools in Parklands Village
Parklands Educate Together Primary School
Parklands Educate Together Primary School opened in 2018 in a temporary building in McCrae Road.
The new permanent school in Russell Road opened in September 2020. It has 420 places and a pre-school, with capacity to expand to 630 places when required.
It’s the first of up to three new primary schools planned for Parklands Village. The second and third schools are not due to be delivered until the mid-to late 2020s.
New secondary school places in Parklands Village
We’ve been awarded government funding to provide a 900-place secondary school at Parklands Village. Winterstoke Hundred Academy (part of the Cabot Learning Federation) will run the school and we are working closely with them to ensure the building fulfils their requirements.
Our project team is currently in the process of appointing a contractor to design the new school. The contract is expected to be awarded early this year. The chosen contractor will then begin to develop the design and layout for the school and playing fields.
