Could you make a real difference to the life of a North Somerset child or young person?
Fostering is providing a safe, caring home for a child and/or young person who is unable to live with their own family. This could be for a number of reasons, such as a family crisis or parental illness, or if the child is at risk of neglect or abuse.
We urgently need more foster carers to come forward from our North Somerset community.
Due to a shortage of foster carers in our area, sometimes children and young people have to be placed in private foster care placements away from their families, schools and other sources of support.
You could help us increase the number of foster carers in North Somerset, meaning we could place children and young people local to their home community.
There are certain criteria that need to be met – such as having a spare room and experience of looking after children – but we’re happy to talk to anyone who’s interested. Even if you don’t meet the criteria now we’ll talk to you about how you might in the future.
We provide comprehensive, free training as well as emotional and financial support to our foster carers.
