There are many ways to pay your Council Tax. The easiest way is by direct debit.
How to pay your Council Tax
Paying your Council Tax by direct debit
We’ll take 10 monthly instalments direct from your bank or building society on the first of each month. Your instalment-free months will usually be February and March. You don’t need to cancel your direct debit during these months. We’ll automatically stop taking payments until the new Council Tax year starts in April.
We’ll let you know if the amount you need to pay changes. You can cancel your direct debit at any time.
Paperless billing is a quick and secure way to view your Council Tax bill online at any time. If you choose to switch to paperless billing you’ll be helping us to reduce costs, so we can continue to provide essential services to the people living in North Somerset.
Paying your Council Tax online
You can make one-off payments towards your Council Tax bill online. You’ll need your Council Tax reference number and your debit or credit card details. You can find your ten-digit Council Tax reference number on your Council Tax bill.
You can make a payment any time of day but if you make a payment after 6pm it will be credited to your account the next working day.
Paying your Council Tax by phone
You can pay your Council Tax by phone by calling 01934 888121.
You’ll need your Council Tax reference number with you and your credit or debit card details. You can find your ten-digit Council Tax reference number on your Council Tax bill.
You can make a payment any time of day, at any time during the year.
Calls are charged at the normal operator’s rate.
Paying your Council Tax by bank transfer (BACS)
You can pay your Council Tax through your bank or building society account. You’ll need to make your payment to:

- account number 73015939
Make sure you include your Council Tax reference number, so we know which Council Tax account to credit. You can find your ten-digit Council Tax reference number on your Council Tax bill.
Paying your Council Tax by standing order
You can pay your Council Tax by standing order. You’ll need to set up your payment to:

- account number 73015939
