Paying a penalty charge notice

Parking text scam

We are aware of a text message scam that tells people they have to pay a penalty charge notice.

We do not send text messages out asking for payment.

If you receive this text message, please do not click the link or enter your payment details.

You can pay a penalty charge notice (PCN) online, by phone, or by post.

You can appeal a PCN if you believe it has been wrongly issued. You won’t be able to appeal a penalty charge notice after you’ve paid it.

You’ll need the PCN number to pay. The reduced rate charge will only be accepted if payment is received within the specified time.

Failure to pay may result in the case being passed over to a debt recovery agency.

Paying online

To pay online, follow the below instructions:

  1. enter your PCN number into the reference box under ‘on street parking fines’, ‘off street Car Parks’ or 'bus lane penalty charge notice'
  2. click ‘get details’

This will pull through the amount outstanding and allow you to add to basket to make payment.

Paying by phone

Use our automated payment system at any time by calling 08450 230 355.

Please note, charges apply to all calls going to 0843, 0844 and 0845 numbers.

The charges are:

  • access charge - this goes to your phone company
  • service charge - this is set by the organisation you are calling

The service charge for calls to 084 numbers is between 0p and 7p per minute.

The access charge – additional to the service charge – varies depending on your phone company. This can range from 8p to 65p per minute.

Lost tickets

If you have lost your PCN, call 01934 888 030 and pick option 3. We’ll be able to look up the details of your PCN. You’ll need your car registration number to hand.
