Roof plans should show or indicate the following information:
- a scale bar or a measured dimension
- drawn to a scale of 1:50 or 1:100
- the shape of the roof particularly when development includes changes to its appearance and shape
- the position of all ridges, valleys, dormer windows, roof lights and other features, such as chimneys or raised parapets.
- details such as the roofing material and their proposed location are typically also included.
