After you apply

On national offer day

The national offer day for reception, infant to junior, and first to middle places is 16 April 2025.

The national offer day for secondary, middle to upper, and UTC school places are usually announced on 1 March. However, as this is a Saturday in 2025 the outcomes will be released on Monday 3 March.

Outcomes will be released on the next working day if this falls on a weekend or bank holiday.

If you have applied online, you will be able to view your allocated school place on the Citizens Portal on national offer day. We will also email you on the same day.

If you applied using the paper application form and provided an email address, your outcome will be emailed. If you did not provide an email address, letters will be sent by second class post on the national offer day and may take several days to arrive.

Please read all the information given to you with your outcome before responding. This sets out all your options and should answer most questions.

You can respond to the offer by:

  • accepting or declining the place offered
  • ask to be put on a waiting list
  • request to appeal our decision
  • withdraw your application and make a new one with new school preferences.
