Some schools require additional evidence to show that you meet some of their criteria.
Check if you need to submit extra information
If your child was previously looked after by a local authority
If your child was previously in care with a local authority, you must attach proof to your application.
You will need to include:
- a copy of the relevant court order
- evidence your child was in care, such as a letter from the local authority or state
You can upload this evidence when you apply online or include it with your paper application when you send it.
If you are applying based on other criteria, such as religion or you are a member of staff
If a school includes these kinds of other criteria in their admission arrangements, you may need to send information to the school. This may include evidence of your child's religion or a Supplementary Information Form (SIF).
These are available on the school's website and the relevant parent guide, and must be returned to the school directly before the national closing date.
Requesting a delay to your child starting school or to be educated out of their year group
You can request for your child to delay starting primary school, start part time or go to school early.
You can also make a request for your child to be educated out of their year group.
