We will be holding an introductory day for all successful members at the Town Hall in Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday 9 May from 10am to 4pm.
This will be an opportunity to meet our chief executive and other senior officers, collect your ICT equipment and parking permit, have your official council photograph taken and more.
An agenda for the day will be given to elected members at the election count.
If you are unable to attend this day there may be delays in you getting started.
Member induction programme
A comprehensive training programme has been created for elected members to provide them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their duties.
The programme will run from May to July. Almost every session will be scheduled twice (daytime and evening) and held both online and in person to accommodate members' other commitments and style of learning.
Sessions are split into three categories:
- essential training
- core training
- committee training
