A poll will only be held in areas where there are more validly nominated candidates than number of vacancies (contested). All of the North Somerset Council wards have been contested.
However for some Parish / Town Councils, there have been either the same number or less nominations than there are vacancies. In this case, these elections are considered uncontested and there is no need to hold a poll.
For Parish or Town councils that have wards, some have been partly contested, meaning that there will be a poll in some wards but not others.
