North Somerset residents have a final chance to have their say on how the area will grow and develop over the next 15 years in a consultation launched today (Monday 27 November) by North Somerset Council.

North Somerset Council is inviting North Somerset residents, community groups and businesses to attend a Bus User Forum on Tuesday 5 December taking place at the Town Hall Council Chamber in Weston-super-Mare.  

Following the Chancellor's announcements in yesterday's Autumn Statement, North Somerset Council has been reflecting on what this means for local people in the year ahead.

The new counters will provide a simple and effective way of monitoring usage and are a great investment for gathering information which will be used to tailor the council’s maintenance programme, prioritising the routes that are used the most.

North Somerset Council is set to introduce improvements outside several schools this autumn in a bid to encourage safer travel on foot or by wheel.

Health organisations are joining forces this month to help North Somerset residents take charge of their health this winter.

Businesses across North Somerset are invited to take part in a special event later this month, to learn more about supporting employees and creating healthy work environments.

Local residents, community groups and businesses are being asked to put their views and comments forward to help shape plans for public transport design improvements for Backwell. 

Seventeen businesses and community groups in rural areas of North Somerset are benefitting from £180,000 of funding designed to boost local innovation and productivity, and improve rural community infrastructure.

At November’s Full Council meeting, North Somerset Council will decide whether to enter into the next stage of a contract to deliver the Banwell bypass with Alun Griffiths Ltd.

More than 40 Community Living Rooms are open across North Somerset as free and welcoming spaces for residents to come together for friendly company, activities and a place to keep warm if needed this winter.
