Analysis of Additional Needs Tool (AANT) is the first stage of an Educational Psychologist’s (EP) assess-plan-do-review process.
It is a chance for education professionals to work together with an Educational Psychologist to explore a child or young person’s (the learner) strengths and needs. This done using a video consultation.
AANT is primarily designed for early intervention and support of children and young people aged 0 to 18 in any educational setting.
How it can help
AANT can help by:
- giving a professional quick support from an EP
- supporting early identification of needs and providing support before these needs escalate
- providing a report that can be shared with anyone working with the learner
A single AANT can have a wide impact in schools and settings because the strategies and ideas can work for other students too.
